What is SMART and SMART Client?
SMART is an innovative Web-enabled sales force automation tool. The SMART (Sales and Marketing Analysis, with ROI Tracking) system allows for sales automation processes that support management and deliver intelligent information.
SMART Client is a wireless handheld solution that seamlessly and automatically integrates with the SMART system extending the capabilities to include sales force mobility, signature capture and timely data collection.

Full access to data
The SMART Web System is only accessible by logging-in; this security measure helps ensure confidential information is only viewed by those with permission. There are five different ways to view information: Nation, All Regions, All Territories, Individual Regions, and Individual Territories.
Web Portal - Provides one easy access point for sales information, trends, call reporting, and links to other sites and systems specific to the sales force
Home Page - Contains summary graphs and charts for Sales by Geography, Days in Field and Call Reporting.
Geography - Menu navigation allows for easy access to data specific to each geographic area within the sales hierarchy, by selecting the region, district or territory information from the geography drop-down menu. Access to data determined by system security.
Call Reporting - Access to Call Entry and Reporting functions. On-line Call Summary reports.
Sales Reports - Distribution method for Field Sales Reports.
Sales Data - Weekly and monthly sales data populated to the system for use in summary statistics, behavior searches and prescriber and account detail pages.
Field Activity - Calendar to record Field Activity, usually activity defaults to In Field, sales representative chooses specific Out of Field activity when appropriate. Field Days used to calculate Call per Day metrics.
Groups - Ability to group practices/accounts into groups. A group can be described as the satellite offices of a practice, hospital network or logical grouping of outlets that represent a unique account's sales. The groups are incorporated into the sales metrics for deciles and behavior searches, to accurately represent an account's full value to the sales organization.
Associations - Prescribers can be linked to accounts. The prescribers associated to an account show on the account detail page, and the account detail page shows the prescribers associated to the account.
Prescriber Detail Page - The Prescriber Detail Page is the prescribers' home page. This page contains profile, scripts, GPO affiliations, availability, speaker status, calls and all other information pertinent to the prescriber, as well as accounts the prescriber is associated to. Date may be held at the prescriber and/or practice level.
Accounts Detail Page - The Account Detail Page is the accounts' home page. This page contains sales, staff contact information and associated prescribers.
Alignment Maps - Alignment look-up by ZIP, alignment maps and roster names.
Business Plans - Interactive Business Plan Reports, custom designed with the sales team. Business plan pre-filled with sales from key accounts, goal attainment, as well as other key metrics, as defined by sales management. The sales representative fills in Action Plan and monthly comments, managers report contains summaries from lower geographies. Graphs available to support reviews and presentations.
The mobile system is a subset of the web functions.
The mobile application requires a device equipped with MS Mobile operating system.
Call Reporting - Enter and view most recent calls.
Edit Information - Edit prescriber, or account information.
Key Sales Metrics - by Prescriber, Account and territory.
Signature Capture - Signature capture for authorization of fax back documents or other requests requiring signed approval.
